Terms of Service

Last updated: 18th September 2025

1. Introduction

What this section covers: who we are, how these Terms bind you, our dual fee model, our no insurance stance, and how we announce changes.

1.1 Who We Are

StowRo Inc. referred to as "StowRo," "we," "us," or "our," operates a peer to peer storage marketplace. We connect individuals and businesses that have underused space, called Hosts, with people or organisations that need short or medium term storage, called Renters. StowRo Payments Inc. is our wholly owned subsidiary and it is the merchant of record for every card transaction. Card statements display "STOWRO STORAGE." StowRo is a neutral technology provider. We do not own, inspect, manage, or control any listed space and we are not a party to the rental contract between Host and Renter. We facilitate payments and disputes. However, that does not give StowRo custody or control of stored goods.

1.2 Binding Effect

When you visit the website, download the app, create an account, list a space, or start a booking, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and every linked Platform Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform because your use signals acceptance.

1.3 Dual Fee Model and Embedded Processing Cost

Every confirmed booking includes two platform fees:

  • Service Fee. The Renter pays 10.5 percent of the booking subtotal.
  • Commission. The Host payout is reduced by 4.5 percent of the booking subtotal.

You can review the complete cost breakdown and how we apply fees in sections 7.1 and 7.9. Applicable taxes (including GST/HST, QST, and any applicable provincial sales taxes) are charged on amounts as required by law, including the booking subtotal, the Renter Service Fee, and the Host Commission.

Checkout footnote that appears on each checkout page, receipt, and invoice:
"Processing costs are embedded in platform fees, namely the Renter Service Fee at 10.5 percent and the Host Commission at 4.5 percent. These fees together fund card processing at approximately 2.9 percent plus CA$0.30, Stripe Tax at approximately 0.5 percent, Stripe Connect at approximately 0.25 percent of each Host payout plus CA$2 per active Host per month, and StowRo platform administration. Rates and components are illustrative and may be updated by networks or providers."

1.4 No Insurance

StowRo does not provide insurance or a guarantee of any kind. Therefore, Hosts and Renters must obtain any coverage they consider necessary. See section 9 for details.

1.5 Updates to These Terms

We may amend these Terms at any time. We will announce material changes by email and through an in-app banner. For Québec consumers, adverse amendments require express consent; continued use alone does not constitute acceptance. Jurisdictions that require affirmative consent, including Québec, will receive a click-to-accept prompt.
